Approval test process for APM-2 according to EN 16450 completed
In 2021, the Air Pollution Monitor APM-2 has been tested according to EN 16450:2017 by TUV Rheinland. The required compliance tests have been successfully passed for the ambient temperature range from -15 °C to +40 °C. The certification committee has evaluated the test report positively and recommended an announcement in the Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger) for the second quarter 2022.

APM-2 receives MCERTS certification
In March 2021, the suitability of APM-2 for continuous ambient air quality monitoring for the fractions PM10 and PM2.5 both in the measuring range 0 to 1,000 μg/m³ according to the MCERTS Performance Standards has been confirmed. You can download the full version of the certificate here.
PNS 18T-DM: Market approval in France
On May, 13, 2020, the Laboratoire Central de Surveillance de la Qualité de l’Air (LCSQA) attested the conformity of our sampling system PNS 18T-DM for the gravimetric method for determination of concentrations of airborne suspended particulate matter of the fractions PM10 and PM2.5 as well as measurement of the mass concentration of the heavy metals arsenic (As), cesium (Cs), nickel (Ni) and lead (Pb), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (especially benzo[a]pyrene) in the PM10 fraction.The sampling system can now be found on the list of compliant devices for official measurement on air quality in France. In France, our long-time partner Envicontrol looks forward to answer questions on all issues related to the PNS 18T-DM and gladly gives advice to all our devices from the field of environmental monitoring.
Comde-Derenda Wuxi receives certification for occupational health and safety management according to ISO 45001
At the end of December 2019, our Chinese subsidiary Comde-Derenda (Wuxi) Measuring Technologies Co. Ltd. was certified for occupational health and safety management according to ISO 45001:2018. The certification confirms the compliance with the management system for health and safety management which is specified by the directive. Aware of its social responsibility, Comde-Derenda Wuxi highly values health protection and safety at work. Therefore occupational safety and health concepts are integrated in all manufacturing processes and business structures. Active implementation of various measures like regular training programs, planning optimization and consolidation of process management as well as raising the awareness and responsibility for health protection and safety issues of all employees helped to continuously enhance the working environment. In the future, Comde-Derenda will furthermore work on the constant improvement of manufacturing processes and the reduction of risks of injury, accidents, and work-related illnesses to optimize the sustainability of all products.
Comde-Derenda GmbH gained environmental label “Brandenburger Umweltsiegel”
After establishing a company-wide environmental management system according to the regional standards of Brandenburg, Comde-Derenda GmbH gained the certificate “Brandenburger Umweltsiegel“ at the beginning of November 2019. The certification is awarded in the context of the environmental network “Umweltpartnerschaft Brandenburg”. An important goal of the environmental management system is to reduce the usage of energy and materials and to ensure a careful handling of resources by structured working methods. It should also train all employees for a better perception of relevant environmental aspects and establish a responsible handling of materials and their disposal. Mr. Claus Heuberger from the Brandenburg Ministry for Rural Development, Environment and Agriculture presented the certification on 07th November on the company site. The IHK Potsdam was also taking part. For Comde-Derenda GmbH, the successful introduction of environmental management meant an important step towards a more sustainable production process. In the future, all company departments will further optimize their handling of relevant environmental topics and consistently pursue the aim of the greatest possible environmental friendliness.
Extension of the certification for APM-2 according to EN 15267

European Aerosol Conference 2019 in Gothenburg
Comde-Derenda GmbH takes part in the European Aerosol Conference again this year. The conference will take place from 25th to 30th August 2019 in Gothenburg on the exhibition site. Thematically, the biggest European exhibition covers many areas, for example combustion aerosols, chemistry and physics of aerosols, health aspects, indoor and ambient aerosols, nanotechnology and a broad exhibition of measurement and monitoring devices. A delegation from Hebei province visited the Comde-Derenda GmbH in Stahnsdorf
On 9th of July 2019, a top-ranking Chinese delegation under the direction of the Chairman of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, Mr. Dongsong Ye, visited Comde-Derenda GmbH. At the production site in Stahnsdorf, they were introduced to the company and learned about development and manufacturing of the company’s devices in the field of environmental monitoring. Mr. Ye was accompanied by other members of the Hebei Provincial Committee, inter alia Mr. Weimin Qi, Director-General of the Research Office, Mr. Jing An, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Commerce of Hebei Province and Mr. Lei Cheng, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affair’s Office of the People’s Government of Hebei Province. Representatives of the Brandenburg state chancellery and of the Wirtschaftsförderung Brandenburg accompanied the delegation. At the company premises, the managing directors of Comde-Derenda GmbH, Norbert and Haro Derenda, took the visitors on a tour through the production site first. The different devices, manufactured in Stahnsdorf, like a SPM sampling system, an online monitoring device of the APM series and automatic and manual weighing systems were shown in a small exhibition. Our partner Orion provides APM-2 devices to monitor emissions of particulate matter during the blasting of the Morandi bridge in Genoa
On Friday 28/06/2019, the remains of the Morandi bridge which collapsed last year in August have been blasted. Many water cannons were on the job to lower the massive dust formation. Our partner Orion was entrusted to provide online devices to monitor and record emissions of particulate matter during and after the explosion. Pilot measurement comparisons for determination of the PM1 concentration for the “Blue Sky” campaign of the China National Environmental Monitoring Center successfully completed with participation of Comde-Derenda Wuxi
Comde-Derenda Wuxi has been tasked to carry out comparison measurements of PM1 concentration for the “Blue Sky” campaign of the China National Environmental Monitoring Center (CNEMC). By means of those measurements, basic data for the development of PM1 standards and limit values is retrieved. At the same time, data concerning the comparability of measurement results with regard to geographical characteristics and the application of different measurement methods is gathered. Particularly, comparative studies between manual and automatic measurement of fine particulate matter are needed. Results are taken into consideration for technical standards and directives. The first period of pilot PM1 comparison tests took place from October 2017 to January 2019. According to the current directives HJ618 and HJ656, Comde-Derenda has installed measurement stations in six cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing and Lanzhou). At each station, measurements have been carried out for each 30 days in all four seasons. As measurement device for manual fine particulate matter measurement, the Low Volume Sampler LVS of Comde-Derenda GmbH has been used. Marketing authorization for automatic sampling system in Korea
The automatic sampling system PNS 16T-DM of the PNS family of Comde-Derenda recently got the marketing authorization for the Korean market. After an invitation to the important Korean exhibition for environmental protection ENVEX, the marketing authorization means a further step on the Asian market. Our subsidiary in Wuxi, founded in 2016, serves the markets of Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Korea and many other countries, together with its distributors. It is also the main contact for customers in the United States of America and Australia.
Comde-Derenda Wuxi wins tender for an important project of China National Environmental Monitoring Center (CNEMC)
Comde-Derenda (Wuxi) Measuring Technologies Ltd., hereafter mentioned as Derenda, has won significant package of the Tender published by CNEMC (China National Environmental Monitoring Center) in National Environmental and Air Monitoring Network: Municipal Air Automatic Monitoring Station Operation and Protection Project. This will entitle Derenda to inspect and examine Measurement of PM2.5 (with Derenda Devices). Seen as an important measure in the “Blue Sky” campaign, National Environmental and Air Monitoring Network: Municipal Air Automatic Monitoring Station Operation and Protection Project is implemented in 1436 stations operated by the state and will be executed until end of 2021, making the project duration three years. Comde-Derenda participates in a delegation’s visit and presents technological trends in China
In order to intensify and consolidate the Sino-German economic relations, the Prime Minister of the State of Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke visited Beijing and the province of Hebei together with representatives of leading companies and research institutes in September 2018.The General Manager of Comde-Derenda Wuxi, Mr. Nan Deng, spoke at a conference on Green Technologies in Hebei and presented online measuring systems (Air Pollution Monitors – APM), sampling systems (PNS) and weighing systems from our range of products.
