This year, the 35th Measurement Technology Conference took place in beautiful Kufstein, Tyrol. During the two-day conference, participants discussed new legal requirements regarding perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS), as well as various aspects of the recently adopted Air Quality Directive. Comde-Derenda GmbH presented an evaluation of a series of ongoing tests on the reproducibility of weighings using automatic weighing systems. Various measuring devices for detecting ultrafine particles were presented. The Austrian Federal Environment Agency reported on the interlaboratory test completed by the Austrian federal states on gravimetric fine dust measurement, in which Malta participated as a guest. A varied equipment exhibition accompanied the conference program.
Provincial Councilor René Zumtobel visited the exhibition and conference, addressing the participants who make an important contribution to air pollution control in the heavily affected province of Tyrol with their measurement and monitoring tasks. The first day of the conference concluded with a visit to the impressive open-air organ at Kufstein Fortress as part of this year’s technical excursion.
